LORD EDDARD STARK

Eddard Stark, 35 years, lord of big winter and north’s protector. The coat of arms of the noble Stark house is a direwolf grey in white field I freeze and their saying is: "the winter is arriving".

Married with lady Catelyn of the house Tully from which he has had five children: Robb, fourteen years, Sansa, eleven years, Arya, nine years, Brandon, seven years and Rickon, three years. Besides he has recognized a bastard child had by unknown mother before its marriage was definite with Catelyn, Jon Snow (name of the bastards of the north), fourteen years.

Lord Eddard is the second-born but his great brother Brandon, heir of the north and promised bridegroom of Catelyn Tully was killed by order of Aerys II Targaryen. His smaller sister Lyanna, promise bride to the future king Robert Baratheon, died among the mountains of Dorne; his only brother still in life it's Benjen Stark brother and Boss of the Rangers of the Keepers Of the Night.

Eddard has a proud character over how hard and icy, and rarely he makes to shine through some feeling, except with his wife in the moments of intimacy, in which it is often sad for the times on they live, often repeating the witticism of the Stark. Good father, tries to make to grow his children teaching them to believe in the justice and in the honor.

Lord Eddard respects a lot the ancient traditions. He same performs the issued sentences with Ice, the blade of family, a thick sword to two hands forged with steel of Valyria. Eddard still follows the old religion of the First Men often praying in front of the mighty tree-heart in the temple of Great Winter.

THE OLDER BROTHER

 BRANDON STARK

First son of Lord Rickard Stark and heir to the throne of Great Winter, dead to twenty.

Promised bridegroom of Lady Catelyn Tully, while it was going to Riverrun for the marriage he was reached by the news of the abduction of his sister Lyanna from Rhaegar Targaryen.

He directed then to King's Landing and he challenged Rhaegar to duel, but he was imprisoned by King Aerys II the insane; the King called Lord Rickard to ransom his son through a duel, but at the arrival of the Great Winter's Lord, Aerys deceived him and did him burn alive in his armor using the altofuoco, while Brandon observed, with a strap of wet cuio to the neck, connected to an apparatus. In the attempt to save his father, he was strangled. Eddard Stark told of him to Catelyn, discussing about nomination to First Knight: "...he would know what to do, now. He always knew it. Everything had to go to Brandon: you, Great Winter, every thing. To Brandon, not to me. He had been born for being First Knight of the king and father of queens, not me....".

THE YOUNGER SISTER

LADY LYANNA STARK

Third daughter of Lord Rickard Stark and promised bride of Robert Baratheon, dead to 16.

Known in all the seven kingdoms for her beauty, during the Harrenhal's tournament the prince Rhaegar Targaryen encircled her with the crown of roses, naming her so queen of Love and Beauty of the tournament, to the place of his wife Elia Martell. The same prince made her abduct shortly after and confined her in a tower in the mountains of Dorne.

This event caused the death of her father and her brother Brandon, and the burst of the war driven by Robert Baratheon, that avenged the affront killing Rhaegar in the battle of the Trident. Lyanna was received by her brother Eddard that, accompanied by his troops after the looting of King's Landing, defeated the three Knights riders as watch, ser Gerold Hightower, commander of the real watch, ser Arthur Dayne and ser Oshell Whent, others two members of the Real Guard. The rescue was late however and Lyanna died among the arms of her brother making him promise to be buried in the crypt in Great Winter with father and brother.

Besides the great beauty, its lovefor Robert is underlined, despite she knew his passion for the loving adventures: "The love is a sweet thing, dear brother, but it cannot change the nature of a man" it told Eddard. She was however reciprocated and also after the death her promised bridegroom put aside a memory that bothered the Queen Cersei Lannister of it.

THE YOUNGER BROTHER

BENJEN STARK

Benjen Stark, younger brother of Brandon, Lyanna and Eddard Stark of Winterfell, are the uncle of the young children of Ned, Robb, Jon, Sansa, Arya, Bran and Rickon.

Being the male third-born of Lord Rickard Stark, after the first-born Brandon and the second-born Eddard, Benjen has never had great possibilities to become a lord, and therefore he has decided in accord with his father to give his own life to the honor of the Night's Watch, taking the Black.

On the Wall, precisely in the Black Castle,Ben Stark has made a lot of road, coming to cover the position of First Ranger, or of head of the scouts of the Night's Watch that risks there lifes Over the Barrier, over the last border of the World. With the black hair, marked features, dry as a basaltic spur, nevertheless he can always be distinguished a spark of joy in his eyes blue steel.

About honorable member of the Brotherhood in black, Benjen Stark is a lot next to the lord commander, Jeor Mormont.

THE WIFE OF LORD EDDARD

LADY CATELYN TULLY 

Catelyn Tully, great daughter of lord Hoster Tully from Riverrun and lady Minisa from Whent's house, had previously been promised bride to Brandon Stark but after his murder she was given in bride to Eddard Stark, of which is sincerely enamored.

From the marriage with Ned, affectionate name that has given her,she has had five children: Robb, Sansa, Arya, Brandon and Rickon. Catelyn has a smaller sister Lysa, wife of lord Jon Arryn of the Eyre, and a brother Ser Edmure Tully heir of Riverrun.

Catelyn has a calm character , even if nostalgic of the warm South, opposite to the rigor of her husband to which however continuous to blame him the blame to have had a bastard. Also she as her husband is worried for the future.

She is very affectionate to all of her five children, according to the witticism of the noble Tully, "Family, duty, honor."

THEIR SONS

ROBB STARK

The first-born of Eddard Stark and Lady Catelyn Tully is hard as rock and cold as the ice, just as his father, Winterfell's Lord. The heat of the rivers that flows in the maternal veins mitigates his character of man of the North, making him prone to the sentimental bonds that to the honor and the ragion of state! His destiny and his nature are in every way those of a great lord and commander.

SANSA STARK

First daughter female of the nestful Stark, Sansa is a lady in the aspect, in the ways, and in the heart. Its soul's gentleness is already that of a faithful wife, but its naivety of young noble seems at times excessive. Apparently fragile as attractive, she will have the opportunity to show her courage of wolf in the most difficult and unexpected situations. Her meta-lupo is Lady, naturally the most docile and graced of the six.

ARYA STARK 

Arya is a wolf! Absolutely undisciplined and unsuitable to the life of court, this assembled of vitality doesn't labor to result nice for her nonconformism and her yearning of adventure. Hers character is diametrically opposed Sansa as its face that it traces that of her father to her sister. Nymeria, hers direwolf, takes its name from a glorious commander of Dorne.

BRAN STARK

The dream of the second Winterfell's male child is to become a noble knight. The mother Catelyn seems to have with him a particularly deep relationship, perhaps for the strong physical simile and caratteriale. Young student, shows great acumen and intelligence, but he is obstinate, seized to the dreams and the fables of the old Nan. Summer is his direwolf , with which it shares a bond that goes over the friendship and the trust.

RICKON STARK

Last Stark's pup is few more than a child, the only one indeed unaware of the intrigues of court and the games of power. Entirely dependent from the adults that they are with him, he is passively crushed by the tragic events that will involve him. Cur is the unusual name that chooses to give to his own direwolf.

THE NATURAL SON

JON SNOW 

Eddard Stark's bastard, is grown however together with the rest of the family, the attracting Catlyn's hate that doesn't accept the choice, also honorable, of his husband. Despite the absence of lineage, Jon is a Stark in everything and for everything, tied above all by great affection to Robb and Arya. The mystery conceals the identity of his mother, only true stain in the honor of the Winterfell's Lord. Jon Snow is for nature a warrior and a hunter, just as Ghost, his formidable albino direwolf.
