Martin just announced in his "Blog" that he has sent to Thor Publishing this new anthology, "a big monkey off his back" using his exact words, full of unpublished tales by some successful writers, most of them real monsters in their own genre.
This work, edited with Gardner Dozois, contains tales that alternate Fantasy and Science-fiction, Historic drama and Suspense, Mainstream and Romance, and much more.
The scheduled date for publishing is yet let unknown, but it won't be before the end of 2010 and not beyond the beginning of 2011.
The author includes also the index of this anthology:
Introduction: "Stories from the Spinner Rack," by George R.R. Martin
"The King of Norway," by Cecelia Holland
"Forever Bound," by Joe Haldeman
"The Triumph," by Robin Hobb
"Clean Slate," by Lawrence Block
"And Ministers of Grace," by Tad Williams
"Soldierin'," by Joe Lansdale
"Dirae," by Peter S. Beagle
"The Eagle and the Rabbit," by Steven Saylor
"Seven Years from Home," by Naomi Novik
"The Custom of the Army," by Diana Gabaldon
"The Pit," by James Rollins
"Out of the Dark," by David Weber
"The Girls from Avenger," by Carrie Vaughn
"Ancient Ways," by S.M. Stirling
"Ninieslando" by Howard Waldrop
"Recidivist" by Gardner Dozois
"My Name is Legion," by David Morrell
"Defenders of the Frontier," by Robert Silverberg
"The Scroll," by David Ball
"The Mystery Knight," by George R.R. Martin
For the fans, a brand new tale about Dunk and Egg: "The Mistery Knight", that brings this work at its end, stands out among all the other ones.
This will be for sure a new masterpiece of contemporary Fantasy litterature, and it also frees our author from another impediment on his long and troubled way towards " A Dance with Dragons".
At the end, always in his blog, Martin claims that "Suicide Kings", third and final volume of the Wild Cards trilogy, will be published on this December.
To discuss about this news, I send you back to our forum's topic, related to the updates that Martin points out in his blog.
