House Baratheon

It is the youngest of the great Houses of the Seven Kingdoms, born during the War of Conquest. Legend says that its founder, Orys Baratheon, was a bastard brother of Aegon the Dragon. Orys had a brilliant military career becoming one of the most valuable commanders of Aegon. After having defeated and killed in a battle Argilac the Arrogant, last of the Storms Kings, Aegon rewarded him with the castle owned by Argilac, as well as with his lands and his daughter. Orys married the girl and doing that adopted banner, honors and motto of her ancestral line.

Baratheon’s banner represents a crowned black stag on a golden field and their motto is: "Ours is the Fury!".
